週初めの今日，早起きして学校へ向かったのだが，
どうやら今日は休日だったらしく，図書館も開いておらず，
しょんぼりお家に戻って観たのが，この映画。

いきなり冒頭から走って逃げているのだが，
このシーン，EdinburghのWaverly Station辺りで撮られており，
あの独特な空気が画面いっぱいに映し出されるのには，いつも妙な感じを受ける。
ノスタルジックなのか。

さてさて，
感傷はさておき，この映画かなりdirtyである。
ストーリーもそうなのだが，画面に映し出されるものはもっと衝撃的である。
ドラッグが話のテーマなはずなのに，
鑑賞後に頭に焼き付いているのは，
「スコットランドで一番汚いトイレ」と「スパッドが撒き散らす」シーンである。
この描写だけで，分かるだろうか？

そうはいっても，
全体的には，Rentonの語りを通すことで，
軽快なテンポで駆け抜ける出来上がりになっていると思う。

好きなシーンはエンディング。
音楽と映像とRentonの語りが最高にマッチしており，
ちょっと明るい気持ちにさせて，終わるのだ。

Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family.
Choose a fucking big television. Choose washing machines, cars,
compact-disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health,
low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose D.I.Y. and wondring who your are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting, watching mind-numbing, spirit-curshing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it, pissing your last in a miserable home, an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats that you've spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life.

But why would I want to do a thing like that?
